SOUTH BEND, Ind. – This week’s Pet of the Week falls on National Dog Day, and what better way to celebrate than by introducing you to another furry friend who's looking for his forever family?
At 10 months old, Yates is a terrier mix who is equal parts energetic and friendly but knows when to be calm and cuddly.
“Just because he's a big boy, doesn't mean he won't be gentle with you," said Lindsey Cuellar, Shelter Manager.
The South Bend Animal Resource Center said Yates has warmed up since they got him, and he has a lot of love to give.
"When he first came in, he was a little shy and a little timid. But as we can see, he's not like that at all anymore. He's willing to say hi to anybody, and everybody,” said Cuellar.
Given Yates’s young age, he requires enough space to work off some of his puppy energy. But while he loves to play, he’s also good at following commands, especially when there’s food involved!
