SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The 12th Annual Greatest Chefs of Michiana event happened Thursday night and served up a spread of talented local celebrities and chefs under one roof to raise money for the YMCA of Greater Michiana.
ABC57's Allison Hayes emceed the event that paired local celebrities with area chefs and restaurants.
Together, they created a new dish to present to the community and attendees got to choose the best.
The fundraiser supports the YMCA O'Brien Center and its mission of helping South Bend children and families in need.
Morissa Beckman, Marketing Director for YMCA of Greater Michiana stated, "It's amazing, you know, to be able to provide after school care to give seniors an option for membership so they can come in and get their daily activity and it's super awesome."
Those in attendance at Four Winds Casino voted Ryan Kring and the Cellar Wine Bar and Kitchen as its favorite cooking team, now crowned the "Greatest Chef of Michiana."
We don't have tonight's total, but last year's event raised nearly $100,000.
