SOUTH BEND, Ind. - As you celebrate America’s birthday today, make sure safety makes it on the guest list to your celebration!
Drunk driving tends to be a trend during the Fourth of July, so if you’re out driving today, be extra cautious of impaired drivers.
Anyone planning to drink at celebrations should have a plan to get home without having to get behind the wheel yourself.
If you’re letting off your own fireworks this year, make sure adults are the only ones handling them. You should also get back as fast as possible after lighting fireworks, never try to re-light one that didn’t take, and soak all used and unspent fireworks in water before throwing them away.
You can find a full list of 4th of July celebrations in Michiana here.
