Actor Rob Lowe tweets Manning will retire; no confirmation by close parties

Brat Pack actor Rob Lowe, the prototypical jerk in 90′s classics as Wayne's World and Tommy Boy, tweeted that he's hearing Peyton Manning is calling it quits.

Lowe's report is yet to be confirmed by any parties close to the situation. Manning's father, Archie, laughed saying quote "He ain't retiring. I think he would've told me."

Manning's agent said this is the first he's heard about it. The actor, as it happens, is friends with Colts owner Jim Irsay.

The four-time NFL MVP sat out the 2011 season after multiple neck surgeries. The Colts finished 2-14, earning the No. 1 pick, one they're likely to spend on Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck.
