Adults return to Potawatomi Zoo for 'Adult Day Camp'

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A chance for adults to return to Potawatomi Zoo, as they held their 'Adult Day Camp' program this morning.

The camp aims to re-engage adults with the zoo, looking to bring back those who may have stopped visiting once their kids got older.

Some of the fun included interactive games, train rides, arts and crafts, and even animal encounters; as people were given the chance to get up close and personal with some of the bears and even touch a rhino!

"It's great to actually be able to get engaged with our adults. Because I think a lot of people, you know, they go when they have young kids, and then once their kids get a little older, they stop visiting the zoo. And this is just a great way for adults also love animals and nature and conservation, so it's a great way for them to engage as well," stated Education Curator Amanda Brunson Cruz.

If you missed out today, the zoo will be hold another Adult Camp Day in just a few weeks, Aug. 17.
