Agreement reached for migrant workers' housing

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The City of South Bend and the South Bend Common Council have reached an agreement to allow migrant farm workers temporary housing, despite a code violation.

They are temporarily living in an old medical facility on W. Western Ave.

The issue is that the facility doesn't have sprinklers, required by city code.

City leaders met to learn more about the building's safety plans and to discuss an agreement.

ABC 57's Jaclyn Kelley reports.
