Air-conditioner repairmen doubling their business this summer

On hot days like this, the sweat on Kirk Tapp's face rolls off frequently.

"It's pretty warm," Tapp said with a smirk on his face.

Tapp is a technician at Henry Smith Plumbing, Heating and Cooling, and lately, business has really been heating up.

"The number of calls has doubled. Especially when it's hot. I'm just trying to get out to everybody and get em' going," Tapp said.

And he get's em' going often. On a normal day, he's used to four or five calls. But on days where the temperature is over 90 degrees, he can expect upwards of eight repair jobs. And that, can make a man thirsty.

"I drink at least a couple of gatorades a day, and probably a gallon of water when it's hot like this. If not, I'd probably be laying on the side of the road somewhere," Tapp jokes.
