Airfare prices expected to rise for holiday travel

UNITED STATES -- Airfare prices are expected to spike, just in time for the holidays.

According to fare.com, Delta, United American, U.S. Airways, Jet Blue, Southwest and AirTran all have raised fares by up to $10 round-trip. That may not sound like much, but fare hikes in October and November are not standard, so there is a chance that they will continue to soar.

There are already talks that prices during Thanksgiving could be up as much as 20 percent compared to last year.
