All Niles Schools closed on Wednesday

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – All Niles Community Schools are closed Wednesday as the district deals with a shortage of transportation and other service providers.

The school district sent out a letter to families Wednesday apologizing for the cancellation.

According to the letter, the district was informed on Tuesday afternoon of a staff shortage that would likely impact services on Wednesday. The shortage was due to a combination of COVID and non-COVID-related issues.

The administrative team collectively decided to close all schools on Wednesday and move Ballard and Niles High School to remote learning on Thursday and Friday.

The district expects to reopen all schools on Monday, April 26 for regularly scheduled learning.
