Alleys for Alley Cats
SOUTH BEND, Ind.-- The Meow Mission is hosting its annual fundraiser on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Bowlers Country Club.
This fundraiser has been going on for 11 years and proceeds for the event will be put towards spaying and neutering Michiana’s community cats.
At the event there will be a carry out Polish dinner, door prizes, cat toys for sale, and a silent auction. Bids for auction items will be accepted both at the event and on the Facebook page.
Alleys for Alley cats is sponsored by Del Meyer with Weichert Realty, Drive & Shine, and Notre Dame Federal Credit Union.
The goal this year is to raise $10,000 dollars which will neuter about 220 cats.
According to President of The Meow Mission Jodi Aker there has been a significantly higher number of homeless cats and kittens.
“Last year, Spay/Neuters were halted due to COVID restrictions. Cats can have three litters a year, so you can only imagine the population explosion experienced this spring & summer.”, stated Jodi Aker.
Tickets for the dinner must be pre-ordered at their website or calling 574-300-3353.
Ticket costs for the dinner are $19.50 and the cost of three hours of unlimited bowling including shoe rental is $15 or $10 with a donation for hard cat food.
The Meow Mission is an all-volunteer organization that seeks to control cat over population in our community through trapping/neutering/ returning.
Since the opening in 2011 the organization has spayed/neutered over 7,500 cats in Michiana.
