SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- AM General has been producing tactical vehicles in Michiana since the Civil War.
Now it is preparing for its next mission with some help from high schoolers from the South Bend Community School Corporation’s CTE program.
Wednesday morning, AM General held dedication ceremony of its new Aftermarket, Fulfillment, and Training Center, alongside Congressman Rudy Yakym and South Bend Mayor James Mueller.
Among the Crowd was a crew of South Bend Students who built the facility’s new guard house.
The Facility will be used for storage and training as AM General was awarded a multi-billion-dollar contract February 2023 to produce thousands of Joint Light Tactical Vehicles and trailers over the next decade.
Production is set to begin later this year.
