AM General wins $800 million contract to build military ambulances

MISHAWAKA, Ind. - AM General in Mishawaka has a new contract with the U.S. Army to build nearly 3,000 military ambulances.

The deal is worth about $800 million.

AM General will build the chassis and body structure before they are shipped off to another plant for final assembly.

The first ambulance deliveries are expected in the second quarter of 2019.
