ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - In an effort to make sure the 2024 elections are secure, Indiana Secretary of State, Diego Morales, delivered a check for over $110,000 toward election security in St. Joseph County.
The St. Joseph County Clerk accepted the grant money Friday, to help elections run smoothly.
The money is part of the $2 Million federal grant awarded to the state.
Morales went on to say, "We had the opportunity to spend this in different ways, perhaps in advertising or something, but I said no, we need to give this money to our local counties because they deserve, they need this money to continue to run smooth elections."
County officials say the uses for the money will be kept confidential until after the elections.
