Applications now being accepted for School Board vacancy

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Applications are now being accepted for the South Bend Community School vacancy.

Qualifications for the interim seat include:

• A qualified voter within the geographic boundaries of the Corporation


• Twenty-one (21) years of age or older


• A resident of the Corporation for at least one (1) year before the election


• A resident of the 2nd district for a period of one (1) year

A member of the Board may not hold another position with the school corporation.

Applications can be sent online until May 24, 2013. Interviews will be scheduled with interested and qualified candidates.

The Board of School Trustees will then will decide on who will fulfill John Stancati's remaining term on Jun 10, 2013 until the end of the term on December 31, 2014.

An election for the full four-year term seat will be held in November 2014.
