Area students enjoy 'School Day' at the Cove

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Hundreds of local students packed Coveleski Stadium in South Bend for some good old-fashioned baseball.

Thursday was School Day at the Cove.

For just $5, students ate lunch and watched the Silver Hawks take on the Lake County Captains.

Kids also jumped in the inflatables, played games, and enjoyed some ice cream.

"We took a really good field trip today, today is really a good day because I get to be with my friends and family and have lots and lots of fun," said Taylor Lopez, a Navarre Intermediate student.

What made the day even better? The Silver Hawks beat the Captains 2 to 1.
