Armed robbery suspect found by K9, arrested in wooded area

THREE RIVERS, Mich. – A person who police say robbed Menards at gunpoint was found by a police K9 and arrested in a nearby wooded area Monday night.

According to the Three Rivers Police Department, officers were dispatched to the store around 11 p.m. where it was reported a person pointed a handgun at an employee while being confronted about stealing merchandise.

The suspect ran from the store across U.S. 131, down a private drive, and into a densely wooded area.

Police say a perimeter was set and K9 Jake moved in to find the suspect.

The person was found bedded in the woods where they were arrested.

K9 Jake found the handgun used in the robbery and along with other evidence.
