Arrest made in Goshen sexual assault investigation

GOSHEN, Ind. – A man was arrested in connection to a rape that took place on June 5 in the 3100 block of Elkhart Road last week, the Goshen Police Department announced.

On June 6, police were notified of a victim who said she was raped on the side of the road while walking to work. The reported incident took place near the intersection of Elkhart Road (U.S. 33) and Peddlers Village Road.

The investigation led police to obtain an arrest warrant for 31-year-old James D. Edwards of Goshen.

Edwards was arrested on Monday and taken to the Elkhart County Jail on the charge of rape.
