Arrest made in Jefferson Street stabbing

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- An arrest has been made in the stabbing of William Johnson on June 13.



A South Bend Police officer on patrol found William Johnson lying on the ground on Jefferson Street, bleeding from an apparent stab wound.



Johnson was taken the hospital.



The investigation revealed 54-year-old Jerry C. Winfield allegedly stabbed Johnson during a fight over a debt Johnson owed Winfield.
