Arrests made in shooting death of 1-year-old at home on Leland Avenue

A grand jury indicted the parents of 1-year-old Javion Sexton in connection with the fatal shooting of the toddler on June 18 at a residence on Leland Avenue, according to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.
Avion Sexton, Sr., 23, was indicted on the following charges:
- Neglect of a dependent resulting in death a level 1 felony
- Neglect of a dependent resulting in serious bodily injury
- Neglect of a dependent resulting in bodily Injury
- Neglect of a dependent a level 6 felony
- Possession of a narcotic drug a level 5 felony
- Possession of a narcotic drug a level 3 felony
- Possession of a narcotic drug a level 4 felony
- Dealing in narcotic drug a level 5 felony
- Dealing in a narcotic drug a level 4 felony
- Dealing in a narcotic drug a level 3 felony
- Dealing in a narcotic drug a level 2 felony
- Possession of a controlled substance a class a misdemeanor
- Possession of a narcotic drug a level 6 felony
Eboni Hosea, 23, was indicted on the following charges:
- Neglect of a dependent a level 6 felony
- Neglect of a dependent resulting in bodily injury
- Neglect of a dependent resulting in serious bodily injury
- Neglect of a dependent resulting in death a level 1 felony
- Possession of a narcotic drug a level 6 felony
- Possession of a narcotic drug a level 5 felony
- Possession of a narcotic drug a level 4 felony
- Possession of a narcotic drug a level 3 felony
- Possession of controlled substance a class a misdemeanor
Hosea turned herself in on October 15 and was booked into the jail.
Sexton has not been arrested and is wanted.
