Art invades the University Park Mall

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The arts were on display at the University Park Mall over the weekend.

Dozens of people stopped by to enjoy the sidewalk gallery.

You could find anything from pastel paintings, photography, and even jewelry for sale!

The art was on display right in front of the mall's new entrance plaza that was built just a few years ago.

Organizers say they are happy to give people a taste of fine art to benefit a worthy cause.

"A lot of people don't realize about the medium and what I do and the other mediums out here. But it.... It's great exposure and then we're doing something for a local charity," said William Jensen, Pastel Painter/Committee Member.

The event proceeds went to support St. Margaret's House for women who provide food, clothing and other needed items for those in need.

The artists are already talking about holding another event at the mall in the future.
