Auction held in Berrien County to support Lakeshore Public Schools
BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – The Lakeshore Excellence Foundation began an auction to support Lakeshore Public Schools on Saturday.
The event is held online and will run until February 8 at 9 p.m.
Disney passes, appliances, spa treatments, restaurant dining and other items are up for grabs during the auction.
This is the fourth year that the Foundation has held the event, supported by local business and donors, to give assistance to the school system.
“I am always amazed at the generosity of the local businesses in supporting this event. These retailers are called upon almost every day for contributions, and they simply cannot support everything. Our ‘turndown rate’ by the retailers is extremely low, and we encourage our donors to support these local businesses,” said LEF Chairman J.C. Anderson.
The Lakeshore Excellence Foundation aims to close a funding gap to remove the schools from the bottom quarter of Michigan state revenue per student.
