Authorities: 48 guns, drugs found in Indiana man's home

DEMOTTE, Ind. (AP) — Nearly 50 guns and drugs have been found at the home of a northwestern Indiana man who authorities say is a member of a white supremacist prison-based gang.

The Post-Tribune reports Friday that court records show 47-year-old Ricky Shultz, of DeMotte, was arrested Wednesday and charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine. He is scheduled to appear Tuesday in federal court in Hammond and also could face weapons charges.

Along with 48 guns, a quarter kilo of methamphetamine, and a bullet-proof vest were also found in the home.

The newspaper reports that a federal complaint says the arrested man was "identified as a senior ranking member" of a gang that "espouses a white supremacist ideology" called the Saxon Knights.

The complaint also states the man admitted to being a member of the gang, but says he now is retired.
