Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting at a veterans post

The South Bend Police Department and metro-homicide are investigating an early morning shooting that left one man dead.
Police were called around 1:30 a.m. to the AMVETS veteran’s post, which is located in the 16-hundred block of Western Ave.
That’s where authorities found 24-year-old Jeremy White lying on the steps with apparent gunshot wounds.
The victim was rushed to Memorial Hospital, but died a short time later.
A suspect has not been identified at this time, and the metro-homicide unit is urging people to come forward with any known information about this shooting.
