Avoiding snow removal scams

For those who can’t shovel or just don’t want to, it can be tempting to hire a third party for snow removal.

The Better Business Bureau says you should take some steps beforehand to make sure you aren’t left in the cold.

The first recommendation for avoiding scams is going with a landscaping company.

The same businesses that do lawn maintenance in the summer usually do snow removal in the winter.

For hiring long term service, make sure your terms are clear.

If you’re finding someone online, make sure they’re dependable.

Establish a price before the work but pay after the work.

“The important thing is that they don’t come and do it when it’s not needed and the other is they do quality work,” Dreama Jensen of the Better Business Bureau  said.
