MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The local radio station, B100, hopes to reach the goal of collecting one million pennies for children in need.
B100 is collecting penny donations at a pop-up shop in their lobby where people can bring at least $5 worth of pennies to help St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Donors can then shop in the lobby for various B100 swag that includes shirts, hats, and special veteran ride t-shirts.
“There are kids right here in our community that have benefited from St. Jude. They have saved the lives kids right here in Michiana. So what you need to do is keep that in mind when you’re collecting your pennies or bringing your pennies in, that you’re saving lives of kids here in the community,” said Deb Miles, B100 morning show co-host.
Those wanting to donate can visit the B100 loby at 237 W. Edison Rd. in Mishawaka.
The pop-up shop will be running from Mon., Feb. 25 until Fri., March 1 during regular business hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
