Baby found in car stolen in Michigan carjacking reunited with parents

DETROIT (AP) — Police say a newborn baby in a vehicle that was stolen during a carjacking has been reunited with his parents.

Detroit police say the two-month-old baby was in the backseat of a car and his parents, ages 28 and 29, were in the front seats on Saturday night.

Authorities allege that man with a handgun approached the car and the mother exchanged gunfire with the suspect.

The suspect took the car with the baby still in the back seat. Detroit police say the baby was later found in a car in an alley.

A 35-year-old man was taken into custody.
