Back to school rally

South Bend, IN – Students in the city are still on summer break but with school starting next week preparations are well underway.

There was a youth leadership explosion back-to-school rally Saturday morning to get kids excited about heading back to class.

The rally discussed some of the issues going on in the world today.

This year’s theme was “youth and adults in unity, creating tomorrow’s leaders.”

“In the sessions they are discussing finance, leadership, ethics, and morals and also health and wellness,” Craig Clark, President of South Bend Chapter of the Indiana Black Expo said.

It wasn’t all educational, there was also a lot of fun to be had. Kids were able to take part in a basketball skills competition, attend a cheer clinic with Notre Dame cheerleaders and of course pick up some last minute school supplies.

Classes begin in South Bend Thursday, August 28th.
