SOUTH BEND, Ind. – There is nothing like the scent of Bacon after your morning stroll, right?
The Family Justice Center hosted the first bacon-themed 5K, and it was to raise funds for charity.
The participants were treated to bacon-flavored snacks, post-run and it was all to raise money for victims of domestic violence.
"I have done other 5k's for causes and this just seems like it’s a worthy cause especially if it’s one they are trying to raise money. The first one is kind of the launching pad so if you do well in the first this will be a money maker in the future.” A participant, Carol Jewell, said.
The South Bend organization provides support for victims of sexual assault, financial exploitation, and domestic violence.
