Bank robbery suspects taken into custody
LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- Two people suspected of robbing the Horizon Bank Tuesday morning were taken into custody within an hour of the robbery, according to the La Porte County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies were called to the Horizon Bank on W. First Street in Wanatah at 10:52 a.m.
Several minutes later, the E911 center received information the Porte County Sheriff's Office was pursuing a vehicle that matched a description of the suspect vehicle provided by a witness, reports said.
The pursuit continued north on SR 49, then west onto US 12.
At 11:29 a.m., the suspect was taken into custody on US 12 in Porter County, reports said.
A second subject, who had been in the vehicle before the pursuit, was taken into custody in the area of SR 49 and the Indiana Toll Road.
Deputies have not released the names of the suspects taken into custody.
