Fatal motorcycle accident under investigation

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- A fatal motorcycle accident is under investigation in Berrien County.

At approximately 5:57 a.m. on April 17, Baroda-Lake Township officers were dispatched to the scene of a fatal accident on Linco Road and Stevensville-Baroda Road.

The accident involved a delivery truck and a motorcycle.

According to police, a delivery truck driver told officials he was traveling westbound on Linco Road and was stopped at a stop sign but hadn’t seen a motorcyclist traveling north, resulting in the fatal collision.

The 27-year-old delivery truck driver from North Liberty, Indiana was uninjured in the accident.

The 31-year-old motorcyclist from Berrien Springs, Michigan was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department is handling the accident reconstruction.

The names of the delivery truck driver and the deceased are being withheld while the accident is under investigation.

The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department, Lincoln Township Police Department, Lincoln Township Fire and Rescue, Medic 1 Ambulance, Michigan State Police and Michigan State Police Motor Carrier assisted the Baroda-Lake Township Police Department at the scene.
