Father of Smith Six mourns, cause of fire ’undetermined’
MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Fleet Feet in Mishawaka is hosting a ‘Shopping for Steve-O’ event on Saturday.
The running store is hoping to raise money for one local charity, the Racing for Steve-o Foundation.
Racing for Steve-O is a foundation run by volunteers to help special needs athletes in our area compete and have some fun.
The foundation was named after Sarah's dad, Steve Smith, who wore many hats and believed that everyone can be an athlete despite their abilities.
In honor of his name, they have dedicated the mission to raise funds for special needs organizations that support recreational activities.
If you shop today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Fleet Feet, 10% of sales are going towards the charity to support more than 16 local organizations.
If you can’t make it out to shop, there are even more ways to support this cause.
One of the biggest fundraisers they put on every year is the Barron Lake Triathlon held in Niles in Michigan.
Lara Perry who is the kid's triathlon manager says they need racers and volunteers for the Barron Lake Triathlon coming up on August 28th.
