SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- After the severe weather that came through Michiana Monday night and Tuesday morning, there are several unlicensed companies trying to take advantage of citizens who need to have trees removed.
The Better Business Bureau reported an increase in complaints to their office immediately after the severe storm.
Marjorie Stephens with the Better Business Bureau says to check necessary identifications and licenses, make sure the company is listed on the BBB website, and get a couple different quotes before choosing a company.
"They'll use high pressure sales tactics, and often have out of state drivers licenses," says Stephens.
