Beacon Health System opens second medical fitness center
Beacon Health System opened a new health and fitness center Thursday in Mishawaka.
The new $15 million, 67,000 square-foot facility has a medical fitness center, a lap pool, a warm water therapy pool, and an indoor track.
“We’re thrilled to bring our medical fitness center to the Mishawaka community. This is more than just a gym. This is a place where people come to stay well and improve their well-being.” said Alan Loyd, Beacon Health & Fitness director.
The center is also home to the only Sports Performance Center in the region.
"A high school athlete that really has high aspirations, they want to get a college scholarship, they can come here and under supervision help get them through strength, speed, agility, get them to that next level," said Phil Newbold, CEO of Beacon Health System.
This new center is the first building to be constructed on this site west of Capital Avenue near the Indiana Toll Road.
This is the second health and fitness center for Beacon Health.
Loyd added, “Over the years, we’ve refined our model to better integrate fitness and medicine. Our wellness team will stand beside you with one objective in mind – to keep you well.”
