Beacon Health System temporarily limits its visitor access to hospitals

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – As of March 6 Beacon Health System is temporarily changing its visitors policy for patients receiving care at any of Beacon’s four Michiana hospitals.

In order to maintain a safe environment for all patients and visitors, Beacon is asking that patients only have up to two healthy visitors over the age of 18 at any time.

While this isn't a requirement, it is strongly encouraged by the hospital to prevent further risks of infection.

This change affects Beacon Granger Hospital, Community Hospital of Bremen, Elkhart General Hospital, and Memorial Hospital.

Beacon is encouraging the use of remote communication such as Facetime or Snapchat in order to connect with patients instead of an in-person visit.

The staff will work with patients to make sure they are able to connect via the free Wi-Fi available throughout their facilities.
