Beacon Health warns patients about possible data breach

SOUTH BEND - Beacon Health is telling patients about a possible data breach - involving a fellow employee.

On its web site, Beacon says the worker accessed records for 1,200 patients without authorization.

It happened between March 2014 and March 2017.

Beacon says it started an investigation.

It says so far, it's found no evidence that any patient information was used illegally.

Beacon says it's starting new procedures to keep this from happening again!

The company runs South Bend's Memorial Hospital and Elkhart General Hospital.
