SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Money raised during the eighth annual Bears in the Air program was donated to the Center for the Homeless veteran’s center on Thursday.
The proceeds of the program held at the South Bend International Airport totaled at $10,000, and were then given to benefit local veterans at the Robert L. Miller Sr., Veteran’s Center.
The funds were allocated to the Miller’s Vets Color Guard for service events and to the efforts to create a secured outdoor recreation area for the residents to enjoy.
In addition to money, over 2100 teddy bears were also collected and delivered to children in local hospitals in December.
