Bedbugs sighted at Clay High School
SOUTH BEND, Ind.—South Bend Community School Corporation said Friday that there have been recent bedbug sightings at Clay High School.
School officials said the building will be treated over the weekend to keep the bedbugs from spreading throughout the school.
SBCSC shared the following statement with parents:
If a report of any type of bug is made in the building, we make sure to inspect those areas thoroughly and treat as necessary. Unfortunately, there have been bedbug sightings in the building recently, and to ensure this does not expand to a school-wide infestation, the entire school will be treated over the weekend as a precautionary measure.
Bed bugs are not a sign of dirtiness or poor hygiene. With the large volume of people coming and going, public buildings are susceptible to bedbugs and other types of pests.
