Benefit being held for 3 killed in Elkhart hit and run

ELKHART, Ind. -- A fundraiser is going to be held for the family of the people killed in a hit and run in Elkhart on Beardsley Avenue in August.

The Smith Family Benefit is going to be held from 2 - 8 p.m. on October 7 at the FOP Lodge on Industrial Parkway

Courtney Smith, 11, Dolly Smith, 8-months, and Shawn Wolcott, 22, were killed in the crash.

Bradley Smith, 22, and Ali Mikel, 22, were injured in the crash but survived.

The event will feature a bake sale, raffle, a silent auction and bounce houses.

The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for kids, which includes a plate and drink.

Elkhart Police are still trying to identify the driver of the 1999 Cadillac involved in the crash.
