Benton Township police investigating armed robbery

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. – The Benton Township Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect of an armed robbery committed Wednesday morning.

At 11:36 a.m., officers were called to Huntington Bank, located in the 1800 block of Pipestone Road, for an armed robbery report.

Police were informed that a person had come into the bank and demanded the teller give him everything in her drawer, according to reports.

The teller said the suspect made it seem like he had a gun in his pocket and threatened to kill everyone in the bank if she didn’t hurry up.

The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect was last seen leaving the bank’s parking lot in a black, 2000s-model Chevy Impala or Malibu.

He was wearing a flannel coat, a hood, and a stocking cap.

An unknown person was in the driver’s seat of the vehicle.

The vehicle was seen driving south away from the bank.
