Benton Harbor adding more security cameras around the city

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- The City of Benton Harbor announced that $350,000 worth of new security cameras will be purchased to provide additional surveillance around the city.

Increasing the city’s number of security cameras will give police an advanced ability to identify criminals who are engaging in illegal activities.

Benton Harbor City Commissioners agreed to finance $175,000 in American Rescue Plan funds to purchase these new cameras.

Whirlpool is matching the amount of $175,000 as a donation to assist with this purchase.
