Benton Harbor Area School Board accepts superintendent resignation

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- The Benton Harbor Area School Board has accepted the resignation of Dr. Robert Herrera from his superintendent role.

The resignation is effective as of June 10.

According to the school board, Dr. Herrera's resignation letter said that he has turned over this power and authority to them.

This means that the school board can do more than vote on taxation matters and they now have more power than their current advisory role.

The board has appointed Patricia Robinson as the interim Superintendent of Benton Harbor Area Schools, pending SRO approval.
