BENTON HARBOR, Mich.—The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety and Michigan State Police are planning to hold a “Bike with a Cop” event on August 26.

The event will be held at the Boys and Girls Club at 600 Nate Wells Sr. Drive in Benton Harbor on August 26 from 2-4 p.m.

Kids between the ages of 5 and 12 and their parents are invited to ride their bikes with the troopers and police officers on a one-mile route. 

A short bicycle safety lesson will be held prior to the ride and bike mechanics will be available to help with minor bike repairs.

Helmet use is encouraged.

Ice cream will be made available at the end of the bike ride.
