Benton Harbor man arrested on fentanyl charges

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. - The Southwest Enforcement Team (SWET) west detectives, along with the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team (KVET) and the Michigan State Police (MSP) District Crime Prevention Squad, carried out a search warrant on Thursday, May 30, in the 200 block of Territorial Road in Benton Harbor.

Authorities say the search warrant was a result of a drug trafficking investigation between Kalamazoo and Benton Harbor area narcotic detectives.

The report states during the execution of the warrant, SWET located around 25 grams of fentanyl and other items related to distributing fentanyl.

A 30-year-old Benton Harbor man was arrested and taken to the Kalamazoo County Jail for possession with the intent to deliver fentanyl.

The man will face additional charges in Berrien County for possession with the intent to deliver fentanyl and maintaining a drug house, both second offenses.
