Benton Harbor police search for shooting suspect

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- Officers with the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety are searching for a suspect in a Monday night shooting.

Officers are looking for 23-year-old Uriah Beauford in connection with the shooting.

Police responded to a call just after 10 p.m. in the 700 block of Vineyard and found a 41-year-old woman with a gunshot wound. That woman was rushed to the hospital in stable condition.

It's not yet clear what led up to the shooting.  Police say Beauford is wanted for other unrelated charges, and could be in Benton Harbor, Grand Rapids or Kalamazoo.

Investigators tell us he's considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, call 911 and don't approach him.
