19-year-old killed in shooting in Benton Harbor

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. – Late on April 10 multiple gunshots were heard in the southeast area of Benton Harbor by officers on patrol.

19-year-old Marcas Purnell was found wounded by gunfire and unresponsive near the intersection of Cross Street and Bishop Avenue.

Purnell was transported to Spectrum-Lakeland Hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

Police are seeking the public’s help to find the people responsible for Purnell’s death.
