John Young Middle School Spring show debuts
A packed day of hoops in Benton Harbor was capped by the home team winning in blowout fashion.
In the final of four games, the Tigers beat Muskegon Heights 85-26 in the inaugural Paul Wilhite Classic.
Wilhite coached at Benton Harbor for 35 years, and still helps the school and community.
He was honored by the school and city before the final game, including an address from Mayor Marcus Muhammad, his former player.
Dec. 23, 2017 was named "Paul Wilhite Day" in addition to the start of this annual hoops showcase.
