Benton Township shooting leaves one injured

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – Police are investigating after a man was shot in Benton Township January 10.

On Sunday around 3:25 a.m., Benton Township police officers were dispatched to 2088 E. Empire Lot 225, near Blossom Lane and Concord Road, after a report of shots being fired.

While making their way to the scene, officers were notified of a male inside a house who had been hit by the gunfire.

Upon arriving, officers located the individual, who had suffered gunshot wounds in his hand and leg.

The victim was transported to Spectrum Health Lakeland for non-life-threatening injuries.

This investigation is ongoing and police have not located a suspect at this time.
