Berrien Co. releases new details in double fatal crash

The Berrien County Sheriff's Office has released the preliminary blood alcohol content of the driver involved in the fatal accident in Niles. The people in the car were reported missing and later discovered in their vehicle, which was upside down in a creek.

According to the sheriff's office, the driver, Autumn Mehl, had a BAC of .14.

The legal limit in Michigan is .08.

The preliminary results of the autopsies on Mehl and passenger Steven Rough were released earlier this week.

Both died as a result of drowning.

The accident remains under investigation.
