ST. JOSEPH, Mich. -- Local veterans may have a chance to going back to school and learning a different trade thanks to a new program.
Berrien County's Veterans Services is looking to place local veterans in a new federal program that pays for retraining.
It gives unemployed veterans $1,500 a month for their first year in school. And a number of veterans qualify for the program.
The group told ABC57 that program is open to a large age group.
In Berrien County about seven percent of the population are veterans.
