Berrien County semi accident shuts down northbound lane on U.S. 31

BERTRAND TWP, Mich. – Emergency crews were dispatced to the scene of a semi rollover accident on the U.S. 31 bypass in Berrien County.

It happened around 4:15 Friday near exit 3. Police said a semi hauling shingles lost control and flipped over. The driver suffered only minor injuries and was taken to Lakeland Hospital.

Clean up is expected to continue through the morning hours. Firefighters were called to the scene to clean up 100 gallons of diesel fuel that was spilled on the bypass.

The accident has been cleaned up. Traffic is still being rerouted.
